    Alexandra Cardoso is a professional makeup artist based in New York whose love of art and inclusion have guided her 6-year career. Alex is focused on creating thought-provoking work that highlights social issues and empowers her clientele. Her aim is to foster inclusion while providing creative services for all, emphasizing the importance of representation in the beauty industry. Since moving from Miami to Manhattan, she has overseen and advocated for Makeup by Flynn’s team of over 40 makeup artists and hair stylists while maintaining her freelance career. Through A.M.C.       Achieve a soft contour or a subtle flush of color on the apples of the cheeks with this gently tapered brush.

      PRO ARTIST TIP

      “While this brush is advertised for blush application and gives the most beautiful, even finish for all powder products, I personally like to use it for a different purpose. When applying underpainting techniques, I typically use this brush to go over the contour and concealer with a wash of liquid foundation. Recently, I have found that applying a pump of foundation on my palette, lightly tapping this brush in, and blending it on a sanitized palm before using it to apply a wash of product all over the face mimics airbrushing techniques. By blending the product in the palm, you are evenly coating the bristles, and the fluffy texture of the brush blends in all liquids while applying a beautiful veil of coverage to the face.”

      “This brush is the perfect size and shape to set under the eyes. The tapered shape allows you to get up close to the lash line without disturbing the eye area. The fluffy bristles provide an even distribution of product which creates a seamless, airbrushed finish.”

      Apply and blend concealer with precision in small areas of the face with the pointed crescent shape of this brush. This style is especially useful in tight areas around the eyes and nose.

      “This unique brush was created to mimic the shape of a finger. This is the medium size in this range, which is perfect for applying cream and liquid products beneath the eye. The pointed end allows you to apply and blend product near the inner corner, while the curved center evenly distributes and blends the product. Personally, I love using it to blend out eye primers or concealer on the lid as well because it really hugs the lid and creates a blended finish without removing coverage.”
